Drawing on a PhD in cellular and molecular pathology, Toni Brand has taught middle school science at Mount Tamalpais School in Mill Valley, California, since 2019. She has developed a classroom pedagogy that centers around inquiry-based learning that promotes critical thinking and curiosity among her students. Previously, Toni Brand, PhD, participated in the EnCorps STEM teachers program, working at Abraham Lincoln High School in in an Advanced Placement biology class. She also taught introductory chemistry at San Francisco Day School, where she emphasized community building among her students. Toni enjoys designing engaging curriculum in biological, chemical, and physical sciences.

Toni Brand earned a BS in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before earning her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. To supplement her education, she belongs to the American Association for Chemistry Teachers and the National Science Teaching Association. She is also working on a blog and podcast to help new science teachers get started.
